The Transfer Center is committed to helping students achieve their transfer goals through empowerment and education. Transfer counselors provide guidance by creating education plans, helping students figure out career choices and transfer options, assisting with transfer applications, and encouraging and directing students to resources for mental health and personal care.

Transfer Express Counseling Sessions
Our 20-minute Transfer Express counseling sessions are open to new, current, and returning students, and were designed as first-come, first-served sessions, both online (via Zoom) and in person at the Oceanside and San Elijo campuses.
There are three ways to sign up for a Transfer Express session:
- Call the Transfer Center at 760.795.6880
- Visit the Transfer Center at the Oceanside campus (Building 14)
- Visit the Student Services Welcome Center at the San Elijo campus (Building 1100)
Transfer Counseling Appointments
Students are encouraged to schedule a 45-minute transfer counseling appointment to develop a comprehensive educational plan that outlines courses, transfer application deadlines, support services, professional development opportunities, and other resources semester by semester. This plan is created in partnership with a transfer counselor and is personalized and based on each student鈥檚 unique circumstances, as well as their transfer and career goals.
Prior to scheduling a transfer counseling appointment, students who have earned college credit from another college or university, or have completed exams for college credit (AP, IB, CLEP) should send official transcripts and/or score reports directly to MiraCosta College. Send official transcripts directly from your previous college or university, and official score reports directly from College Board or International Baccalaureate.
