We are excited to share that Â鶹ӰÊÓ has received grant funding to provide 61 students with fully funded U.S. passports - a $182 value - at no cost to you.
Because we have received a large number of applications, we are taking extra care in our review process to ensure fairness and accuracy. Priority is being given to applicants who meet specific eligibility factors—such as receiving a Pell Grant, being a first-time freshman, and being a first-generation college student (defined as neither parent having earned a bachelor’s degree).
Applications for this priority group will be reviewed through October 3, 2025. This means you may not receive a final decision until after that date. The application will remain open until November 5, 2025, or until all 61 grants have been awarded.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be a currently enrolled MiraCosta student
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Have never had an adult U.S. passport
- Priority given to Pell Grant recipients, first-time Freshman or transfer students and First-Gen students
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria before applying. Participation in a study abroad program is not required, though encouraged.
If accepted for this award, you will be required to attend the mandatory drop-in session to have your passport application and documents reviewed on 11/7/2025 at MiraCosta. You will also be required to attend one of the in-person passport processing days at the SDSU Passport Office (11/21/2025 or 12/12/2025). Transportation will be provided from MiraCosta to the SDSU Passport Office.
